Client - MEC Mining

 

MEC Mining is a mining engineering consultancy specialising in mine planning, onsite management, continuous improvement and technical services solutions for the open cut coal and minerals sector. MEC Mining provides Project Engineering Professionals from their offices in Brisbane, Mackay and Townsville to many of the Mining Projects within QLD.

Due to the demand and projected growth for these resources 4Cite was engaged to assist with developing the project controls required to best manage and inform the MEC Clients of availability of resources and forecasted completion for their projects.

Caltex Port Hedland Terminal Upgrade – Caltex / Transfield Services

 

Client – Saunders International

 

Planning and Project Scheduling the Construction of Petroleum Storage Tanks and associated works. As part of this engagement 4Cite provided remote support with weekly updates and project reporting requirements. Delay and EOT Assessments were also prepared as part of the claim requirements under this contract.

Tender Major CSG Project - Independent Review

 

Client - McConnell Dowell

 

As an Independent Reviewer 4Cite were engaged to review and provide recommendations on the proposed Tender Schedules for a Multi-Billion dollar CSG Project.

 

Karara Iron Ore Project – Karara Mining

 

Client – Downer Australia

 

Planning and Project Scheduling the new 330 kV Power Transmission Line. 4Cite assisted the highly experienced Downer team deliver another Power Infrastructure Project. As part of this engagement 4Cite provided remote support with weekly updates and project reporting requirements. Delay and EOT Assessments were also prepared as part of the claim requirements under this contract.

Williamsdale to Theodore 132kV Transmission Line - ActewAGL(ACT)

 

Client - Currie and Brown

 

Currie and Brown engaged our services for the above project as part of their role as Independent Reviewer. Our role was to conduct a review and an assessment of the proposed TCE and project program developed by a Contractor as well as an extensive review of the Project Brief for this project.

Wollar to Wellington 330 kV Transmission Line - Transgrid

 

Client - John Holland Power

 

John Holland Power engaged our services to build a “For Completion” program for the abovementioned project. In order to do this, we needed to undertake an analysis of works completed to date, issues currently constraining the project and review other potential construction methodologies to optimise the completion of the project. We also developed S Curve and Percentage Complete Reports. This project is current and we are continuing to provide support by the supply of weekly updates for this project.

 

Richmond Line Alliance - RailCorp (NSW)

 

Client - Currie and Brown

 

Currie and Brown engaged our services for the above project as part of their role as Independent Estimator. Our role was to conduct a review and an assessment of the proposed project program developed by the Alliance team as well as an extensive review of the proposed indirect cost model for this $160 Million project.

Solar Schools Program - Qld Department of Education and Training

Client - Grassroots Marketing Alliance

For this project we were requested to build a tender program for the delivery of the Solar Schools Program and specific technologies throughout over 1300 state schools in Queensland (Qld Department of Education and Training) over the next 12 months.

Tomago Substation - Transgrid

 

Client - Jemena Asset Management

 

Jemena engaged our services to build the tender and construction programs for this $30M Design and Construct project for the Principal Transgrid. This project is ongoing and currently producing weekly updates as well as developed and maintained a sophisticated Site Tracking sheet. We also report on productivity through the use of S Curves and Percentage Complete Reports.

132 kV Underground Transmission Line - Ergon Energy

 

Client - Jemena Asset Management

 

Our role for this project was to assist the project team assess, review and submit various Variation Claims for this project. This required a review of all the major issues for the project, compilation of appropriate Vendor Invoices and producing a Variations register and all supporting documentation for the submission of each claim as per the requirements under an AS4000 contract.

Various Substations - Sydney - Transgrid

 

Client - Jemena Asset Management

 

Jemena engaged our services to build the tender and construction programs for various substation projects throughout Sydney. Further we were engaged to develop a full resource programme for Jemena’s Electrical Division in NSW so as appropriate resource management processes could be put in place for the execution of these projects.

Kingsgrove to Revesby Quadruplication - RailCorp (NSW)

 

Client - Currie and Brown

 

Currie and Brown engaged our services for the above project as part of their role as Independent Estimator. Our role was to conduct an analysis of the proposed project program as well as an extensive review of the proposed indirect cost model for this $600 Million project. In this instance, the outcomes of this analysis provided the client with significant cost saving for the overall project.

North West Growth Centre Tender Submission - Sydney Water

 

Client - Alinta Asset Management

 

Our role on this project was to develop a tender program as part of the tender submission for this proposed Sydney Water project. We also assisted the bid team with a review of sub– contractor tender submissions, undertook risk & contingency analysis specifically reviewing the geotechnical issues the project faced, developed the proposed cashflow forecast, developed their indirect cost model, produced maps of the proposed line routes and developed and implemented a web based document control platform.

Various Transmission Line Projects - Powerlink Qld and Rio Tinto WA

 

Client - Downer EDI Engineering Power

 

We have undertaken the scheduling on many transmission line projects for Downer EDI Engineering. We were recently involved in scheduling their contracted works under the Powerlink PAC Agreement suite of projects in North Queensland. As part of our role, we built and  maintained the project program, produced productivity (S Curve) and resource reports and produced their extension of time claims as per the AS 4000 Standard. The following transmission line projects were undertaken: the Bohle to Ross Gas Turbine, Ross to Townsville South, Townsville South to Townsville East, Ross to Yabulu and Tully to Innisfail. We have also scheduled works for projects in Western Australia just recently completing a new transmission line for the Brockman 4 mine.

Wet Weather Overflow Reduction Program 01 (WWORP01) - Sydney Water

 

Client - Alinta Asset Management

 

This project was Package 01 of works required by Sydney Water as part of their Wet Weather Overflow Reduction Program (WWORP) of works. We were initially retained to develop and maintain their project program. We developed and implemented a number of project controls for this particular project and which were not present in the organisation. Then we were invited and undertook the development, maintenance and operation a new cost control model specific for this project. Using this model, all costs, variations and claims were defined and itemised as per GC 21 Contract. We implemented a web based document control platform for this project. We produced maps showing the various line routes for all the various sub-projects of work. We also produced and presented all variations and extension of time claims for the project.

Sydney Cross City Tunnel - Claims Process

 

Client - Downer RML

 

For this project, Downer RML required assistance with the production of a full contract claim with respect to delay and disruption to their contracted works for the above project. As sub-consultants, we were engaged to developed a highly detailed breakdown of all man-hours (approximately 330 000) worked versus planned to define and quantify the true impact of the delays as they occurred on site. We also developed sophisticated scenario models to assist the parties during their negotiation process.

3G Mobile Network Rollout - Telstra / Ericsson

 

Client - GridComm

 

This extremely challenging feasibility, design & construct project required the entire national rollout of the 3G network to be undertaken within 12 months. GridComm was responsible for approximately 3500 sites along the eastern seaboard and South Australia. Our role was to schedule the works for all 3500 sites, reporting daily run rates achieved, produce logistics scenarios and route maps for the installation teams, developing BOQ (Bill of Quantities) sheets using a purpose written computer program to assist their estimating teams, production of monthly cost reports used for invoicing, resourcing reporting and manpower requirements as well as a regular review and analysis of data input into client and principle databases to cross reference data accuracy.

3G Mobile Network Rollout - Optus / Nokia

 

Client - Abigroup

 

On this project, we assisted Abigroup with the rollout in Queensland, New South Wales and Victoria. We liaised with site acquisition consultants, undertook site feasibility studies & design coordination. We produced “takeoffs” and Bill of Materials (BOM) sheets & scheduled all works. We coordinated and undertook dilapidation inspections and audits, developed full cost control models and implemented a full web based document control platform.

Tas 21 - Combined Gas & Fibre Project

 

Client - Downer Connect

 

This project in Tasmania involved both gas and fibre assets to be installed throughout the State in a combined services route. We were engaged as sub- consultants for the preparation of a significant Contract Claim. The Claim centred around delay and disruption to the fibre contractor due to out of sequence works and significant access issues.
